Wiring for a wonky Strat... help with defeat switches

So, essentially, I want to have two separate circuits (sorta).  I want Tele pickups with the standard 3-way switch and a single P-90 in the middle.  I'd like a defeat switch on the P-90 and the Tele circuit, so it could be just P-90, just Tele circuit, or both.

Now, does anyone see some problems I'll run into?

Also, what sort of switch should I use for the defeats?  I was looking at slide on-offs like Jaguars, but I'm open to suggestions.

How about a 5way and a push / push vol knob.

Have the push push select the P90. The first 3 notches of the 5 way would be standard tele selection, the other two left blank.

So upon selecting a blank position you push in the knob and get P90 only. Any of the first three positions will yield any combo of tele and P90 when worked with the push / push.

I've never used a 4 way.... maybe that would work better.?

*Edit*  .. Oh wait a tick.. the last position of the switch be it 4 or 5 way should also select P90 only. I personally would avoid the possibility of accidently going silent.

I would definitely just put all the selections on a 5-way super switch, that will be way less confusing and give you one 'extra tone' to boot.
But you could get the result you want just from a simple push-pull pot or any on/on mini switch. I can't post a diagram here, but it just goes: bottom lug = output from 3-way, middle lug = to volume, top lug = from P90. Pull for P90. All on the same side of a dpdt or spst switch.

i count 7 total combos so whatever you do you'll need a pair of switches. one easy way is 2 les paul type switches. the other easy way is a 5-way strat switch with a push/pull on the bridge pickup. this is more popular and is a lot easier than anything with a super switch. it also looks right on a telecaster.

You could just do a 3-way tele switch plus a mini on/on/on switch to get what you want with no problems.

The only problem with 2 on/off slide switches (or 2 push/pulls) is you'll get no sound if both are "off".
