Is there some historical or legal reason double white/creme are much rarer than Black and zebra open coiled humbuckers? I'm after a double white set for a project, but it's really limiting my options to a handful of choices.

DiMarzio has the rights for creme HB's. As far as I know pickup companies do not supposed to ship creme HB's although they can do it when the HB's are in metal covers... :redflag:
For DiMarzio & S.Duncan pickups in any colour check this store: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/banjomikez__W0QQ_armrsZ1

Interesting..that's kinda what I suspected. Cheers for that.  I'll try and stick with small builders and get some custom ones, if I can.

Others can if they call them Ivory.

Thanks for the link, that was very informative  :icon_thumright:

Makes me think of that US company stealing our Ugg boots! b@stards! Though, Ugg bots are right up there with trackies and flannel shirts in the fashion stakes.

Is it creme or cream?  With creme, creme brulee comes to mind and cream is used when creating a creme.  Cream is actually described as a color by Merriam-Webster, whereas creme is strictly limited to food.

According to the OED, creme is "a creamy substance used as filling, etc., not containing real cream or a toiletry having the consistency of cream," whereas creme is "the fatty content of milk or a very pale yellow or off-white colour."

LoL,my bad. It was cream...though if a company called it creme, I guess they could get round the trademark!

I'm not a patent lawyer, but colors, scents, and flavors can't be patented, so to speak.  The actual color code formula to make the color can be.  UPS brown, Richard Petty blue, Dr. Pepper, and Coke all have their formulas patented.  However, those colors and flavors can be achieved without copying the formula exactly.  The DiMarzio "Cream" may be patented, but they are not the only manufacturers of double cream humbuckers.
