Who put together your Warmoth?

The biggest difference between a GOOD luthier from Peru and a GOOD from USA is: how easy he can get the stuff and machinery that he'll probably have... Here in Brazil (and believe there in Peru too) the things are more expensive and harder to find... so usually here the work is more raw, "hands on"

machinery, parts, etc.....you're right. In the case of Huamaní I think he´s actually had access to good machinery. He had some deal with PRS years ago.

I assebled and wired mine, but Warmoth built it.  I did modify my bridge, but that was just drilling and filing.

agreed that this is the technically correct answer ... but it just wasn't worth the hassle of explaining the difference to all those here who are blissfully content to 'build' their own axe from pre-made (and in many, many cases pre-finished) Warmoth parts

all the best,

I do all my own work, finishing, assembly, fretwork etc. But I grew up working with stuff.... and I've been doing my own guitar maintenance for 30+ years. This kind of statement is scary:
If you have a basic understanding of a drill and screwdriver, you can put it together.

Knowing how a good guitar should sound and play, and how it got that way, are sort of prerequisites for making one be that way? Of course you can put it together, but if you handed a Warmoth guitar to Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana or Eric Clapton without having the fretwork completed, they'd hand it right back....

I assemble and wire my own, then take them to a local luthier/repair shop for final setup and fret dressing.

exactly. I could probably screw, solder, stick, etc the parts together.....and make it "look" like a guitar. But I'm sure there are neck angle issues and other setup stuff that should be left to a pro.

I've used Warmoth replacement necks and bodies for others, but haven't I been able to keep any for myself.      I'm still waiting on some hardware before I can finish building the first 100% complete W I get to keep.

Have you posted any pics, Blue?

Not yet Doc. Not only do I still have a good portion of the hardware left to get, but my camera is off in Sony-Land getting fixed.

I'm thinking that when it finally comes back, It'll probably be done.  I'd love to post some 'Out of the Box' and 'Work in Progress' pics but....I don't think I can deal with the wait.  Looking at a complete Warmoth guitar in pieces without assembling it isn't something I'll have the patience for.
