Which solder do you prefer

Curious which solder you prefer. As I am needing to order some, wondering if I should try something different.

The 63/37 is commonly known as "eutectic" solder, and is good because it has a very narrow plastic state. Makes "cold" solder joints less common.

I have been using 60/40 and was thinking of the 63/37 for that reason as I evidently got one. I have read that SN62 is as well.

I'm using good old 60/40.  Been through half a dozen rolls of the stuff.

Been using Kester 60/40 Rosin core for longer than I can remember. Bought 2 pounds the last time, so I'll not be changing anytime soon............

60/40 without a rosin core, it just makes clean up that much more, I like to add my flux manually

Are you all using .031 dia (I have been) or .050?

.031, it's what we used to prototype PCBs for Gov contracts back in the '90s. Although the government changed their spec sheets so often, it was hard to keep up. That inability to make up their mind got me a few free soldering irons that were purchased and then unable to be used! Government inefficiency can be profitable.  :icon_thumright:
