the 5way+3way is just for the prails (real stratwiring, real les paul wiring) and I was too lazy to omit the 5way when I put on the gold pickups.
both HAVE to be tone MONSTERS. the rosewood-version will be like a normal les paul, tonewise, but maybe a bit tighter and brighter. afterall, the back is wenge, and the neck is padouk with an ebony board! that will give me some serious tightness and more highs. the padouk version will be a bit like this one, maybe warmer, maybe brighter. If canary is available when I order, I hope so, it will be a tight-sounding guitar with agressive mids (bubinga back+padouk top!), nice attack, but not shrill-sounding. If I take goncalo alves, it will be a bit warmer, overall, but not mushy again.
I'm still thinking about the padouk-version. the rosewood will be tune o matic+gold pickups (warpig ceramic, but when thats too mushy and warm; miracle man!), and the padouk... the prails are cool, but I want it to be actually as simple as possible, and prails kind-off are the opposite of simplicity. toggles, push pull pots, 5way blade/3way toggle, floyd rose....besides, black pickups, imho, only look cool on tobacco bursted black korina or maple. so maybe, one day, a black korina/black korina les paul with bubinga neck/ebony board, floyd rose, 3x prails. I think thats a better idea then to wreck up all the nice, exotic woods. but ey, I still have no frickin idea! I also have the idea of having hotrails+trisonic together, and hotrail+kinmans together (looks like a humbucker, but should give me a fat humbuckertone, but also the great kinman (or trisonic!) tone).
I'm afraid I'm never done with this
