On the pic, we see 4 versions of each of the 2 les pauls I wanna build (one is the padouk top, the other is the rosewood top). the versions (for both):

1: seymour duncan prails, special wiring, ToM bridge
2: seymour duncan prails, special wiring, floyd rose
3: bareknuckle pickups (warpig for the rosewood, miracle man for padouk), floyd rose
4: bareknuckle pickups (warpig for the rosewood, miracle man for padouk), Tune o Matic

which one do you guys like more?

Probably not guitars I would build, but if they were, I would do one with trem and one without, I think the floyd looks less bad on the darker rosewood top. I voted 4 & 6.

I think it's 5 + 8, man

but only because I don't think I'd bother with the floyd

but then again
when i think of a trem to put on a les paul
i'm stumped

until i think again and mumble
BIGSBY

the padouk is nice, too, don't get me wrong
but i feel the rosewood would make for the bluesiest growly fat les paul sound

NO freaking weird pickups dude... put a couple of Pig90 mississippi queen on one and the humbuckers on the other!

LP with floyd could be cool, but I didn't like in these ones... sorry!

Beside it: gorgeous as always!

no floyds
no blade switches

the trick is to make it look traditional with having 3 pickups and funky switching!

Ask for quarter sawn rosewood for some added color and figuring.... or not.. straight grain is nice too ;)

the 5way+3way is just for the prails (real stratwiring, real les paul wiring) and I was too lazy to omit the 5way when I put on the gold pickups.

both HAVE to be tone MONSTERS. the rosewood-version will be like a normal les paul, tonewise, but maybe a bit tighter and brighter. afterall, the back is wenge, and the neck is padouk with an ebony board! that will give me some serious tightness and more highs. the padouk version will be a bit like this one, maybe warmer, maybe brighter. If canary is available when I order, I hope so, it will be a tight-sounding guitar with agressive mids (bubinga back+padouk top!), nice attack, but not shrill-sounding. If I take goncalo alves, it will be a bit warmer, overall, but not mushy again.

I'm still thinking about the padouk-version. the rosewood will be tune o matic+gold pickups (warpig ceramic, but when thats too mushy and warm; miracle man!), and the padouk... the prails are cool, but I want it to be actually as simple as possible, and prails kind-off are the opposite of simplicity. toggles, push pull pots, 5way blade/3way toggle, floyd rose....besides, black pickups, imho, only look cool on tobacco bursted black korina or maple. so maybe, one day, a black korina/black korina les paul with bubinga neck/ebony board, floyd rose, 3x prails. I think thats a better idea then to wreck up all the nice, exotic woods. but ey, I still have no frickin idea! I also have the idea of having hotrails+trisonic together, and hotrail+kinmans together (looks like a humbucker, but should give me a fat humbuckertone, but also the great kinman (or trisonic!) tone).

I'm afraid I'm never done with this :(
