What projects do you have planned for 2010.

This isn't Warmoth or even guitar related, but my wife has been on my butt for 2 years about building her some wall-to-wall, floor-to- ceiling shelves.  She spends every non-working or sleeping minute reading or going to book sales.  She has a spare closet devoted solely to mass produced paperbacks, ones she deems worthy of keeping but too cheap looking to be stored in public view.  Our bedroom has 3 freestanding 5 shelf units.  This is what ended up going in our front room.

I used Miniwax Satin Stain w/Poly in Antique Walnut.  I did a pre-sand and applied 4 coats and 0000 Steel Wooled after the 1st and 2nd coat.  The shelves are 12" deep and 130.5" long.

The finishing stages.

Just waiting on the books.  It has free weights helping hold it straight until the books are loaded.  Even straight lumber isn't always straight.  If the bracket spacing looks funny, it's because I used an even number of brackets on a wall with an even number of studs.

Done, just needs more books.

Yep, that looks like pine. I'm from Sweden - if something's made of wood here, there's a 75% chance of it being pine. It's everywhere, preferably with just a clear coat :tard:

Depends on the economy...my Company is promising to return our Pay cut this March. That and have a kid graduating, one in College and another wanting a car.  So, if Warmoth is watching, Here's what I'd like to do in 2010. It would be my first full Warmoth Proj.

Chambered Carved Top LPS
  • Mahogany Body
  • Spruce Top
  • Painted Solid Black
  • Masked binding
  • Neck and Bridge Humbucker Rout
  • Standard LPS Controls
Maple\Maple Baritone Neck with Warmoth Headstock
  • White Graphtec Nut
  • No Front Dots
  • 6100 Fretwire
  • Satin Finish
Pups
  • Neck - SH2 Jazz
  • Bridge - SH8 - Invader
The trick will be balancing these two.

Currently being debated is tuners, and bridge. I'm currently favoring a Bigsby. but could live with a TOM/STP. I'd like it hollow beneath the bridge though so not sure about a hard tail. I have no idea about the tuners other than I'd like the hardware to just be chrome.

Unfortunately, the custom body runs about $530 or so. So I'll be watching the screaming deals throughout the year. Maybe I can get something close.
