What Is Your Favorite Neck Profile?

but am intrigued by the 'D' profile. Don't see much mention of them, anyone tried one ?
I'll be able to tell you more about the 'D', once my Mustang build is finished.

My first impression so far:
With a 1 5/8“ nut width it's a nice medium neck profile and while the Standard Thin and Fatback are very round, the 'D' feels more... "square".

Nice, looking forward to your impressions.

Did anyone notice the fatback and boatneck specs changed? They're down from 1" to .965".

Not a bad thing IMO.

@aarontunes can we still get the OG size off menu/call in?

Nope, we don't do custom neck profiles, but...

...nothing about those two profiles has actually changed IRL. The only thing that is different is that as a result of a few customer complaints, the dims on the info page were changed by 35/1000th of an inch to more accurately describe what they have always been.

I mean, what's the deal with customers with digital calipers?

Huh, so 1" thick was really .965 all along?

I feel cheated. Lol

Since the accusations are flying about calipers, i broke mine out, out skool!
Vernier calipers with a micrometer backup!

My 1 11/16" '99 fatback is indeed not an inch thick. Its .963 at the nut and .965 at the 12th.

However, my '22 boatneck is a straight .98.

2/1000" of an inch difference from 1st fret to 12th is not much of a taper.

The difference between all of these is a little more/less hand sanding from one neck to the next.

I was genuinely surprised about the fatback being a touch thinner front to back than the boat.

Hence the calipers coming out. Lol.

They're still among my best necks. The boat i think is number one all time.
