Warmoth / Fralin Telecaster

+1 on the knobs. they look a little out of place. otherwise that thing is one mean looking tele! congrats! i like it a lot

yeah but, as he said, the pots are solid shafted and the tele knobs are made for split shaft pots

Real Tele knobs are junk. You can get set-screw replacements that look the same but are of higher quality. They're $5 ea. just about anywhere fine guitar parts are sold.

Yeah, I'm definitely not 100% sold on the knobs.  I'm probably also going to try the black ones.

Also I'll probably try to soak these BLINDINGLY WHITE knobs in some hot coffee... I didn't have any white speed knobs when deciding just how to top the control pots, instead I had some "antique white" ones which were basically yellow-stained or whatever, and they looked perfect.

I agree that speed knobs are a bit big, but I tried Tele knobs, and they just don't work.  Maybe it's that the controls are lined up like a Stratocaster.  Also I don't like it when I look at a guitar and I get an impression that - without having a better way to describe it - the thing looks more like a piece of furniture than a modern musical instrument.

Also, I sort of wanted an element on this VERY BROWN guitar that "popped" a bit.  I agree with the comments herein, however, that I might have a bit more "poppin'" than I bargained for!

I've also tried hat knobs and they didn't do it for me either.

I have some nickel-plated Tele knobs with set screws and I'll definitely give them a look-see on the build now that it's complete.

In the end, this may simply end up being a question of function over form, as I really want numbers on my knobs; I'm probably one of the only human beings who uses them.  And with one of the knobs being a varitone, it becomes even more important to be able to keep track of specific integers.  As it'll be primarily a recording instrument, that might be the deciding factor.

We'll see... I may end up loving these babies... and thanks for the kind words all!  :)

that pick guard has a certain something to it, not bad at all. i'd change all the knobs including theselector but i dont know what to. but overall very nice build.
