Using tung oil over Warmoth's oil based penetrating sealer?

I read somewhere that you shouldn't use a tung oil finish over an oil based sealer. I know that warmoth uses an oil based penetrating sealer, so I would like to know if anyone can give me any tips on what I can do to ensure a tung oil finish works with my neck? Or do you guys just think the whole thing about not using a tung oil finish over an oil based sealer is bull.

Warmoth using an oil based penetrating sealer? Where did you hear that?

Is this on a neck your talking about? A body? Finished or unfinished?

DrSeb mentions it I believe......when his neck bowed, don't know if it's oil though

"No idea if that happened while storing it before staining, after, or while waiting for a finish at the finishing shop. It doesn't matter since it was ordered w/o the penetrating sealer and is therefore not covered under warranty (well understood when ordering that way)."

All our necks are dipped in an oil based penetrating sealer which is compatible with virtually all secondary finishes. This provides enhanced stability; however, it is not adequate protection for playing. We strongly recommend you apply a hard finish to all Maple, Mahogany, Walnut, Korina, and Koa necks.

Tung oil should not be a problem and neither is tru-oil.
