Using Nano-tech to make wood stronger than steel.

Jerry Garcia played 2+ hour sets every night with a 14.5lb guitar. Suck it up :bananaguitar:

Also, just because somebody else does something, why should I?

Go ahead and light your guitar on fire, Jimi Hendrix did it.
Hit somebody in the head with your guitar (or bass), Sid Vicious did it.

The higher density would almost certainly dramatically change the resonances, so I would expect it be no more popular than carbon fiber and other alternative materials that don't sound exactly like wood.

However if it could be used as a thin laminate in a multi-laminate neck, then perhaps it might be a real winner.

I don't know about all this Nano-Tech talk.

It didn't work out so well for these folks...

The biggest problem with its use in guitars has already been mentioned. Guitar players. Still, interesting stuff, and I suppose it might actually be a good reinforcing rod in a neck layup. Especially if you can figure out how to sell it to guitar players....

See there's no more rosewood left but we swept up the sawdust from the floor at LMII and are now selling these reinforcing rods made of sawdust made from the dawn of rock n roll.... Rose at Seymour Duncan and her niece breathed the same air as when these were made. Guitar players, as much as they hate change - are also suckers for magic beans and juju dolls. So I imagine you'll see it - you just need some marketing genius to figure out the correct sell job.

But seriously you probably will see this in structural components in industry in the future.

Indestructible guitars that can double as implements of self-defense? I'm confused, I thought we already had Telecasters?
