I noticed that, too. Tulipwood and Ipe are good examples. But, they're also good examples of how you can't trust the pictures. For instance, their shots of Ipe don't look anything like Ipe.

Wow every top on here is stunning! I think I'll be more than satisfied with the standard flame top option. They don't happen to have anything right for me in the showcase right now, but perhaps by the time I'm ready they will. Either way though, I like using the custom builder, and if I decide to go for a peghead veneer I couldn't use a showcase body, if I understand their protocol correctly

That only has to do with finishing. If you want the peghead and body to match, they have to be ordered together. Wood-wise, it doesn't matter. They don't make them out of the same piece.

That's what I did, man. I just kept an eye on the Showcase until the one I wanted showed itself. It can be really tough trying to choose from so many great pieces, but then that one jumps out right at you and you KNOW that's the one. May I suggest getting the RSS feed from the showcase so you get updates as soon as things are added and you won't have to go through everything all the time.

Yea I knew that much, but I thought they didn't do it on showcase parts for some reason. However I'm looking to get a Jack-1 neck and they don't have those too often from what I've seen. Nevertheless I have no problem going all custom, all that matters is that I get the specs I want  :icon_thumright:

What I would ... With that said, I'm not 100% sure on why you'd want to custom order the body with the large selection they have in the showcase which you can see exactly what you're getting........unless there is something specific you're wanting to get that isn't offered in the Showcase.

If you are looking for a fancy topped Strat or Tele, that isn't a problem to browse the Showcase. Sooner or later one that looks quite close to what you want will show up.

However, the other models are less in frequency on the Showcase.

For example, there's hardly been ANY VIPs pop up on Showcase for at least a month now. Soloists are also pretty rare too, particularly Carved Top ones.

Other models you rarely see outside of the bland looking Alder or Mahogany.

Not trying to be a smart aleck (this time) but it really depends on you, and the piece. From my experience, Warmoth isn't doing the really twisted genie thing where failure to explicitly numerate all the terms and condition of the wishes gets you what you asked for, but in some horribly demented Monkey's Paw sort of way. But if you see a top or fingerboard that you've convinced yourself you absolutely need THAT ONE, then unique choice is the only way. I've not been dissapointed with luck of the draw though.

Well it did when I ordered it, because it said it had to be finished. Got Clear Satin Nitro.

BUT .... I'm a bit dirty  :evil4:  at the moment as I have JUST discovered that it doesn't need a finish at all.
