i really liked these when they released them. in all seriousness, if it either had no pickguard, or a more strat-style one i might still be saving up for one! love the body shape and the headstock with it. a 6-in-line headstock might have worked a little bit better, but i like the gibson headstock on there a lot, surprisingly

Phuck Fish!  Ugliest guitar ever!

Fix the headstock, make the body a bit more symmetrical, skip the F holes, skip the chrome covered pickups, put a tremolo bridge on it and make it a solid body and it would be a great guitar.

I don't think I like the concept of a fancy wood backside with a plain top though. :dontknow:

I like the shape. It reminds me a lot of the Wes Borlands signature guitar he had Yamaha design.

There are components on the guitar I think are cool, and I'll admit that, but there are chunks that miss on me. I've never been a big fan of either the 490 or the 498 pickups. If I had to go with Gibon pickups on anything, these would be the last ones I'd grab (wait--forgot that the Dirty Fingers in back in production). Plus, it just seems anti-Gibson, especially with the heavy use of scratchplate, and the fact that the scratchplate holds everything electronically together. To me, it feels like the craftsmanship skills used to put it together don't justify the cost. I know that using the pickguard for the electronics is a long-standing Fender feature, and I don't have any gripe at all about the concept, but we're talking about Gibson here--the arched top, the top-loaded controls....

If this came left handed, and wasn't a plywood guitar that cost a million dollars.

I would have children with it.

I dunno man--the headstock on the bottom one is goofy, but in all honesty, I like reverse Fender-style guitars. They're just different enough to be accepted, but they're different enough to be out of the norm.

Well, Maggie is like... 4,10

she really couldn't... move.

If she had big boobs.

A co-worker once told me from experience; big girl, big icecream.  Small girl, all icecream.

I do love me some ice cream.

The pick guard is what ruins it for me. Take that off and redo the control layout and I would play it all day long, with EMG's of course.  :icon_jokercolor:

I think Max is commenting on the very idea of this abomination rather than the certainly iffy aesthetics. It's Gibson's Jimi Hendix signature guitar from a couple of years back. Horrifying thing.

Personally, I'm bugged with the Zoot Suit in general--aside from the mescaline-trip inspired stripe job, the pickups lookin like they were potted with used cinnamon chewing gum. I'll admit that it is a little cool to have clear pickup tops, but there's really a reason that nobody has done it in the past.

I love the clear pickup tops, pickups rings, and knobs. It's the cotton candy finish I don't like.

thought I had seen it all till I saw those peyote edition SGs
I mean you guys have pulled up some ugly stuff I wish I could forget, I have to admit owning one of those aluminum necks :icon_scratch:
funny we have not seen that thing from purple rain
but worse of all, I am in the liking the Cadilac group.

Those Gibson zoot suit SG's remind me of the time I puked a bag of skittles.

If you take them out of the bag and eat them one by one, it won't make you nearly as sick as if you ate the bag.
