I have considered something along these lines before. The idea I had was an inverted step pyramid, two or three steps. It's symetrical and combines both styles.

Wow, this looks like John Travolta stepped out of Saturday Night Fever and became a Telecaster. I mean that in a good way too. I don't even like Tele's all that much and this one is making me go "PUUUURRRRRRR!" I really like it. If it sounds as good as it looks you have one helluva guitfiddle going there.
