Most of the time in Aug and Sep, I was busy on a project for Hermès Men Upside Down post fashion show party in Hong Kong. We made racing cars as big boys toys to show off Hermès new shoes.

As usual, clients in Asia being spoiled to giving short deadlines and made many last minute change decisions.

We only have around 50 days for design, R&D and built/ testing. Most complexity part is an Autonomous Car can run 360° twisted circles like the rollercoaster, match “Upside Down” theme.

The toughest time comes with some bad luck, around 10 days before the deadline, I got a foot injury with twisted crack bones and dislocated bone joints. Bear the pain ask the doctor in AE to pulling back the dislocated bone, then fix with a plaster cast, buy 2 crutches and rushing back to the factory, can’t be admitted to hospital as the doctor wants to observations need operations or not.

I need to go back to fix the 3D printer to keep it running, as it takes 28 hours to print one car body. Take some rest sleeping and start working next morning on 8 am.

Walking with crutches really slow me down, still working 2 overnight ( with just 2~ 3 hours sleep ) in the factory to make it finish on deadline to ship it out, but not enough time for fully test the Autonomous running loop Car.

That making the on-site installation another tough job. Need more testing and fine-tuning after installation within the tightened on-site deadline. As the transportation not arranged by me, the other side careless call a truck that 100mm shortened on top, ignore I have told them it needs an open-top truck for 2.8M hight production products , to arranged another open top truck with more customs clearances paperwork to cosseted China border, take away another 2 days of already tension scheduled. That made me need going through another 48 hours overnight working on site to do the testing and fine-tuning after installation, finally made it running before the show opening.

Toughest time is the need to doing all this with pain on a twisted crack feet bones, and crawling in and out many time with crutches from the runways ( as it is a loop without any door need to crawling under it to get in ).

Here is some finish video and BHS on the project :

After the show, I back to home got a long sleep, then go to the hospital, waiting for small operations now, to put some “screw “ in the bones to help it grow back properly.

So... what happened? Something heavy fall on you, or did you fall with your foot stuck in something, or what?

Incidentally, that's a pretty elaborate shoe display.

Too bad they didn't have some shoes you could wear that would have kept your foot from getting crunched up.

it a typhoon session, a canvas top can't hold it fall, knocked down a heavy ladder fall on my feet that crack bones, and  canvas knocked me down too, that made a second  twisted

and their shoes tooooooooo expensive  for me, one pair of shoes can buy 6 ~ 10 sets of warmoth build    :tard:

I'm very sorry to hear about your accident.  Here's hoping you can take some time off after this latest round of craziness to heal properly!

You really did a great job on those shoe displays even with your foot all messed up. Contrats on a good show and now take care of the foot.

thanks, guys  :eek:ccasion14:

the operations have done smoothly, now I just waiting for recovery  :binkybaby:

After quite some time, I basically back on my feet again.

what happened on first operations is to put this onto my crack bones to fix it,

waiting for 2 months for bones to grow back, then other operations take it out again, then some more time for the muscle and operations wounds grows back again.

oooo - that looks nasty.  So all the hardware comes out once things have healed?

Geez! That's uncomfortable just to look at! I can't imagine what it must feel like. Addicted to opioids yet?

At first I thought it was a joke, like you had laid a bunch of hardware on top of your foot before the x-ray.  Looks like it added about 5 pounds of stainless steel to the weight of your foot.  That just unfortunate.

all of that has been taken out on second operation last month. that may be the most nasty part, need to cut it open again to take it out.

Hospital did prescribe quite a lot painkiller for longer times, but I know it not a good thing for body and it can be addicted, so I only take about 5 days after the operation, then few more days before sleeping ( otherwise can go to sleep with the pain) then I stop taken it, a little bit pain not a big deal.

Wow....that looks like quite an ordeal. Sorry you had to go through that, but glad that things are getting better now!

Hey, the trash can by my work bench has stuff like that in it. What a thing to have to go through. Glad to hear you're on the mend, now.

I want to say like everybody else here: good to see that you're getting better. :eek:ccasion14:

thanks everyone for your kind words, I can walk nearly as normal now, just not for too long, as muscle not fully recovered yet.
