Damn I forgot about Shawn Lane (epilogue for Lisa is pure awesomeness!!!!!!!) . I love his stuff. it is really hard to stick with 5 huh. from everyones lists the guys that stick out for me are Gilmour, SANTANA, Mayer, and Lane.

I saw Jeff Beck on Palladium in HD last night and it was a kick ass show....definantly a classy guy. Its pretty obvious Satch's playing borrowed heavily and was influenced by Beck, except Jeff is Tastier in My opinion. :icon_thumright:

Albert King
Larry Carlton (the stuff from Steely Dan)
Derek Trucks
Pat Metheny or Jim Hall
Jeff Beck

Listening to Brent Mason  right now, gotta love that chicken pickin'!

Also a big fan of Robert Cray, and Robben Ford.

Including myself in this condemnation, selections so far are almost-universally lily-white, =CB= excepted. . .

Well, this thread is about personal favorites, not necessarily people deserving of respect.  I listed people I like listening to, not a mishmash of PC selections solely chosen for their particular minority.

My list changes frequently...
The current list:

Buddy Guy
Peter Green
Joe Bonamassa
Billy Gibbons
Gary Moore

Demographics is not racism, keep your projecting out of my post. :)

I suppose "condemnation" is sort of a weighted word, however.
