As other threads on this site suggest, I'm about to start ordering bits for my new guitar.

Having played a Les Paul for the last 20 years, I'm kind of used to a TOM set up and was planning to go this route with a string through set up....

However, another thread suggested that the Gotoh 510 is a superior bridge??

Before I commit, can someone please explain any difference in feel between the two and what, if any actual tangible advantages exist between one or the other?

Thanks.

If you are already comfortable with TOM, get it. I have the Gotoh and Tone Pro wraparounds, and I can't say anything bad about them, but, like you, I am used to the TOM and it just feels better to me.

Errr...I read your post again. I prefer TOM/STP. But I still think you should go with what you are already accustomed to playing.

Yeah, the Paul obviously has TOM/STP, but I figured I;d try the string through tail for better sustain and tone?

As I often rest my palm on the bridge for picking stability and muting when playing heavy chugging riffs, it's just real comfortable - I guess what's behind it doesn't matter too much in terms of feel?

Anyone ever put a TOM on an arch top rear rout twin HH tele?
