No. In the 35 years they've been in business, they've run one sale that I can think of where they knocked ~20% showcase items, which are already roughly 15%-20% off custom order prices. That was 3 or 4 years ago. Don't know why or if they'll do it again, but word is that was a freak occurrence that won't be repeated. Must've had tax issues that year or something, and needed some serious revenue in a hurry. Generally speaking, their shop is busier than a cat scratchin', so they don't need to tease anybody into pulling the trigger on the ol' credit card.

This is interesting and goes in a direction I mentioned in the OP, White Back, both woods for top/FB. and looks amazing!!!

Also, in the description of this it states Pearl binding, but this sure looks WHITE to me?  Yes/ No?

No, white would be white. That looks like cream, but may be pearloid. Tough to tell by the picture as the differences are kinda subtle. It's more of a texture difference than color.

So, I have another idea working around the brainwaves (alder body, walnut accent line, flame maple top, clear satin finish ). But I am still thinking things through. That said, if I did alder with my Canary top and White back and Canary fingerboard, what would work as a nice raw neck wood that I could tie together with the white-ish looking binding?

The possibilities are endless. Best feel? I go through a lotta necks around here, and I've never been more impressed than I have with Ebony over Pau Ferro or Bloodwood. Put some stainless frets on one and those necks are just sex on a stick. Especially if they're burnished.

But, if you don't mind a finished neck, I can see you saving a couple bucks on exotic wood and applying them to a finished neck. Maple is relatively inexpensive, and they'll paint the thing white just as easily and for the same price as they'll do clear. Then it'll match your body's back. Whole front's Canary, whole back's white. I can see that looking pretty good.

Incidentally, you probably don't want a satin finish on the body. It'll wear funny and look like hell in no time flat.
