Is there some particular reason why he is using the Warmoth name as part of the selling point in the first place?

Don't think too far into it! We're dealing with an eBay nut here, who knows where his head's at. You cannot rationalize it.

Looks shady but maybe it's old? I don't know. I can't get Warmoth to drill volume holes in a pickguard in custom locations, it seems odd that they'd make something like that. It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard though.

If Warmoth can't vouch for this everything on that guitar is suspect too. That could be a $45 Floyd Rose-branded cheapie too. I don't understand what in the world is going on.

Wyliee, you holdin' out on us?!:

"Warmoth is a company who manufactures top of the line guitar parts including Guitar bodys, Guitar necks, Guitar pickups, etc."

I want my custom Warmoth-made pickups NAOW!

I read it on the internetz so I know it must be true!  :laughing7:

This guitar is also on the "Eastern Shore" Craigslist of Maryland. In his ad it's listed as a "Tradition", not one word about Warmoth in the ad. I can't link the ad from workbut it's heading readslike this...

Custom Guitar built by Tradition  $300- Salisbury, MD

How do you like that? Guy's just fulla surprises, isn't he? The Craig's List ad is here.

Someone contact Ebay and tell them he's misrepresenting the product (with a link to the Craig's List ad)?

This guy's gaining notoriety. He'll be lucky if he ever sells it, what with all the stink on it.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive..."

I think the only way this cat will have the chance to sell this thing and maybe get some money out of it is to try a pawn shop. You know, we may have actually seen this individual before--look at the first four minutes of this:

So, this is not only costing him face, it's costing money as well. Ebay doesn't let you just list and drop on a whim like you can with Craig's List. Ebay charges for listings.

Just for the record, that is not a Warmoth product.

From Ken Warmoth:

Here’s the true story about my neck throughs – I built close to two hundred of them way back in the day – and that day was at least 25 years ago. Of course none of them had a brand however they all had the Warmoth name and date on the control cavity wall – hand done no less. No, I didn’t sign any of them. Each of these instruments was entirely hand made to customer specifications so there is a lot of variety in them. I quit doing these things because at that time I couldn’t sell them for enough to make a living at it – too many hours involved. Besides, I hated building the wooden boxes to ship them so that they arrived at their destination in one piece.  - Ken
