I wasn't knocking Fender's quality. It's just that their Standard production guitars don't have "everything" I want in terms of features & preferences, and the Custom Shop is just a rip-off, which is why from now on, I will build my own guitars with help from Warmoth.
With that said, it's sad that my two favorite guitar brands (Fender & Gibson) have become nothing but big, greedy corporations. Those companies started it all, but are no longer what they used to be. I guess they just got too big.
Oh, and I also have NO use for that "Road-Worn" garbage. I don't like beat-up guitars, and if I did like them, I could beat up my own for FREE. Not to mention that any beat-up guitar that didn't get that way from 30+ years of serious use, is nothing but a FAKE, and why would anyone want to pay more money for fake stuff??
Not trying to go off-topic; I know this thread is not about the "relic" debate. I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the previous comments regarding the way these companies try to market stuff. It's no wonder sales are down.
