I listened to this amazing song and was thinking: what does the "hoe corn" means?
I searched for hoe and found that tool to dig soil... So "hoe corn" is dig and put the seed on soil?

That would seem likely, Hoe used to cultivate, or lightly dig the soil

Unless it's some other use of the word hoe?
