On Your Own (Original)

It has always been curious for me how sometimes an original song idea develops its own dynamic in the subsequent implementation process when writing a song, and thus the song moves in a noticeably different direction. That's what happened to me this time with the new original “On Your Own”.

Because I actually planned to do a bluesgrass folk song with significantly more acoustic instruments. Now the initial idea has finally turned into a 70s classic rock song with an emphasis on electric guitar riff, of which only the slide guitar is left. But for me these are also the small, unpredictable adventures that you experience while writing a song which one should also get involved with.

The lyrics are more of the sad, gloomy kind. Because life is just not really fair as long as there are many who are born on the sunny side of life and some on the dark side and who find it difficult to get out of there.

The various rhythm guitar parts are all double tracked. And some of them in different positions. The main melody line of the vocals was also sung twice.

As the year is now drawing to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Unofficial Warmoth-users who are reading this a relaxed and safe start into the new year!
