Ok, ok, ok... so the newbie would like to post another build. Warmoth ash body in black, with a Fender American Deluxe neck. Pup and control setup is like the EMG DG-20, except in black. This guitar set up really nice; frets chords like nobody's buisness, and leads are easy to play. It is so nice to be able to put together instruments like this. Without the crew at Warmoth, this wouldn't be possible. A big thanks! :hello2:

I'm not really feeling the pickguard, but I love the rest of the build.  :icon_thumright:

Hey Doc, I wrestled with the pickguard too. I was originally thinking of tortise, but when I got a tortise, I was realy dissapointed in the way it looked. Maybe black might look good. Your thoughts? Thanks!

Black Pearl is really cool in person.  I'm looking at some right now.

I think you should put a solid black pickguard on.
Solid black looks really cool on a black body.

Cool, seems the consensus is black/white/black. I’ll order one up, do the install, and re-post. Great thing is, changing pickgaurds is easy, and can have a big impact on looks.

you should have it how you want it - not how these guys tell you to make it.

EXACTLY!
+ a 3 ply White Pg on black is so standard - it's what you get on just about every black stock strat.

But you still give your sight :laughing7:
Don't know, think it looks great fora shred alike guitar... Think black pickguard could look cool, probably with cream pickups... but it's a big change...

Word.

Besides, I like the pickguard that's on it.  Makes it look "unconventional" and I'm all for that.  :icon_thumright:  Nice strat!

But the bottom line is, if you like it the way it is, for the love of God keep it the way it is! Don't listen to us. What do we know anyway?  :laughing11:

A jeez guys... no big deal. I like hearing all the comments and opinions. It's what make a forum like this fun. And really, If I was dead set on this pickgaurd, I'd say so. The more I think about it, I want some contast, but not too much that's in your face. I was looking on the Warmoth website, and think I may try the black pearl. Little more understated with some conrtast, and the black/white/black under the pearl. We'll see. Thanks for all the input though. :eek:ccasion14:

My first thought when I saw the pic was, WOW! That picguard looks cool on the black body, I wanna do one like that too.

Then i read some of the people ideas about white black 3 ply whatever, and realized, my first impression was correct. It looks too good now, don't change it. Serious, It looks killer now

you say that, but everybody picked up on the PG on my Warmoth. I listened and did a refit and it makes the guitar look 50x better.

Sometimes consensus is a good thing. In this case i agree. Tone it down, it'll make is "sing" in a visual sense.
