While I've never seen KISS, I've got many friends who have seen tons of people swear that KISS is one of the greatest shows they've ever seen

I've seen them several times, with all the originals and they are certainly in the top 5..

I have seen them 5 time (soon to be 6 with Motley crew) and they are in the top 5 greatest shows ever.

Carmina Burana was fantastic in the early 80s (Ozzy) but it has to be the biggest cliche nowadays for a concert intro...

I saw Yes from the 90125 tour here in st.Louis.  The opening act cancelled (sick).  I think it was Night Ranger (just as well, I guess). But as an opening act, they dropped a huge screen and played old classic Bugs Bunny cartoons (the bull-fight, the castle-monster and I think one other).  When the cartoons were done the lights went out and the laser started a funky slow intro into "Changes". WOW.

I like what Rush has done lately - shown a (usually very silly) short film with members of the band as actors.  Then start the first song just as the film ends.

The latest tour they did this with a short that featured the song 'spirit of the radio', which turned into the first song.  It was really well done.

Actually Berlin was going to be the opening act for that tour - but Yes had so much gear that there wasn't room left on the trucks for an opening act's stuff, so they went with Bugs instead.

Always liked "You wanted the best... well they didn't f*****g make it. So here's what you get. From Hollywood - Guns 'n' Roses".
