Attached is the original drawing by which my TFS6 self designed signature guitar was built back in 1995.
It is a neck thru with the following specs.
24 x 24.75” scale
12” radius on the Indian rosewood fingerboard.
6105 or thereabouts Fretwire.
Maple neck through.
Basswood sides/wings.
5A Quilt Maple 16” laminate top.
6 inline reverse headstock of my own design.
A Gotoh 1995 (old version) Floyd licensed locking bridge/nut have since been replaced with the newer 1996 due to wear on the knife edges at about the 23 year mark of usage. That saw me through the recording of 3 records and tours. She’s still my #1.
After all these years, I am gonna make another, but with some design revisions. First things first, this'll will be a bolt on version using the Warmoth standard Fender Bolt On specification.
My current headstock variation is switching to a more timeless looking 3x3 headstock as seen below. It is a modified Warmoth Vortex neck that I acquired at the 2025 Warmoth Summer Guitarnival.
It will also be a recessed Tunomatic with arched string thru.
The output Jack (exhaust pipe) will instead of being a simple right angle Jack inside the lower wing, will be a Strat style Jack on the inside of the upper wing, out of the way.
The original body was 1 5/8” thick.
This will be the full standard thickness of 1.75” in mahogany.
I’ll be using this thread to post periodic vlogs with progress and stories along the way.
I have some ambitious ideas not normally seen in a solid body electric guitar, but they are pragmatically intended.
This is the start of something that I hope will inspire other builders as I was inspired when I called long distance from Central California some 46 years ago as a teenager to acquire tips and knowledge in my passion for the functionality and construction of this instrument.
