Hey everybody, I've been jonesing for a classic strat and a classic tele for a long time, until recently I started thinking of whacky ways to combine the two. Basically what I'm looking for is a way to have the classic tele bridge pickup sound while having a tremolo instead of a tele bridge. Do any of you know a way I can get a tele pickup properly mounted to sound right without using the tele ashtray bridge?

just cut the bridge plate in half, attach to a hinge, and some springs  :icon_biggrin:

no seriously:

yeah i was just gonna say TremKing
i know Orpheo stands by these on his les pauls so they must be good

The trem king looks awesome. It doesn't look like it requires bridge post routs or anything like that, so i'm not sure which tremolo route I should ask for from warmoth. Do you think that a six hole trem route would work. I'm wondering if the "tele" baseplate in the trem king would cover up the six holes and have plenty of room in the bigger part of the route for maneuvering.

I knew this was coming....

I think I would like floyd versions of all my hardtail/nonlocking trem guitars, simply cuz I like to use different tunings alot, and I don't want to be screwed by not being able to change to dadgad with my floyd guitar.

oh and I think I just answered my last question. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the tremking TK-2 baseplate will completely cover the screw holes for a six hole trem rout. If the cash comes in, I intend on ordering a W body with 6 hole trem rout and tele bridge pickup rout and putting the trem king on it. This also gives some flexibility if I want a normal strat trem like I was initially planning.

I want to try a tremking, but I don't have one yet! I use hipshot trems on my les pauls.
