i had my tele assembled. sounds great.

but the forearm contour spoils the aesthetics of the tele shape.

that's probably the reason why fender never does forearm countours on teles.

i should have just gone with only the belly cut. sigh ...

I think the reason Fender doesn't do that is because it would get too many complaints for purists.

EDIT:: Standard. Fender doesn't do that standard is..

yea i will post the pics :) but the warmoth showcase itself has many such. except you can't see what i am talking about in a pic - else i wouldn't have gone with it, would i?

but i think my initial perception will wear off in a few days and i'll grow more comfortable with it.

here is one : http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?Body=2&Shape=2&Path=Body,Telecaster&i=T1292

though you can see the forearm contour, you can't really see what i am talking about.

you need a side shot for that.

probably the length of the body has to do something with it. with strats and jags/jms the body is longer so it contours blend in.

but with a shorter tele body it doesn't blend in as well.

+1

On my latest Tele build, I opted for just the Tummy Cut and no forearm contour for that reason.  And FYI, Fender has done both cuts before.

I personally like the foreskin contour!! :)

I would have ordered it on the thinline if that was an option!

multiple thinline bodies in the showcase with a forearm contour option.

and now i hear ...

guys i think for this forum to be really useful to the public (and not just specialists) we need to have a possible dos and donts for each model.

or atleast warn people of possible issues associated with each model.

like the tele forearm contour, the jazzmaster bridge (shimming etc) ...

these two issues i have come up with my warmoth builds that i wish i had done differently. i'm sure others have similar output about other models.

could save people some heartburn.

No, those are all hollow (or chambered) bodies. Forearm contour is not available on the Thinline.

Sooooo...you think we should have told you that YOU might think the forearm cut on a Tele looks weird?  With all the things I have learned from putting together a few Warmoths, I don't think that reading your mind is one of the lessons I've learned.  Instead, maybe YOU should research your projects more in the future.  Go see guitars in the real world that have features that you are thinking of putting on your custom guitar, and well, see if you like it, before you do it.

can you name me one existing of tele with a forearm contour that i could check out anywhere in the "real world"?

or even a past model?

especially with guitars i do a lot of research. if it was even remotely possible i would have done it.

Um okay.  Did your extensive research include looking at the pictures?

What did you expect it to look like?

ofcourse i looked at the pictures in the showcase. it actually looks good right?

but it is not the same as looking at it in person - where it looks slightly weird.

others have also commented on this - so it is not only me.
