TELE OWNERS UNITE!

That's an original Tele Elite, with standard pickup ring
And I'm sure you'll see that tele again someday, Marko

Yeah, those were all the rage in the 90s.  Fenders with Lace Sensors.  The guy from Radio Head plays something similar.

That's a super-ugly guitar.

Just kidding!  :laughing7:  That's really sweet.  I love the red, wood, and blue.  :headbang1:

Yeah, it's no really me at all.  I'm not big on dyed tops, fancy maple tops, or gloss finishes.  This one has all 3.  It was a showcase body priced to move because it had been there for over a year.  Definitely an impulse buy, and I'll probably be moving it sooner than later.

Don't forget the gold hardware!

Oh yeah.  Don't dig that either.  That whole thing, I just have to convince myself to like.  It doesn't sound bad though.  That's what matters, right?
Yes, it does sound good. Especially with that neck pickup.

I thought it was a Tele Plus. :icon_scratch: Either way, they're really cool guitars. I've only seen one in person and still kick myself for not getting the sales guy to get it off the wall for me to test out.

Yeah, you're right, I sometimes get the two mixed up, though, the Tele Elite is cool too.

Hey drewfx, is that a Hipshot Trilogy on the 1st? Slide guitar, I assume... one of these years.

Yes indeed. Not really just for slide though (especially given my utter incompetence at slide playing).

speaking of Elite, this one in black is for sale at the local pawnshop and I really want it... 1500 right now, which is a little too much for me:

Marco,
I could do amazing things with that pine body.  :o

I've got one just like it too..  :toothy10:

We picked those up 2 years ago at the dallas intl guitar show for like 30 bux a piece on the last day.. bit of a fire sale.  :icon_thumright:

I was gonna ask if that was where it came from.  I saw those there last year.  He had a scratch and dent pile for $20 too.  Some if them I swear were still wet, the same way a 2x4 at Lowe's is.

these ones are actually pretty nice.

I've got a spare maple tele neck that I had on that blue one I posted a picture of, that I switched out with one I bought from trevor by vox.. and the fender one fits it like a glove.

Some were much heavier than others, like they were made out of lead.  He said the heavier ones had better tone, with a question mark in his voice like he was gauging if I was looking for that.  We both chuckled.

Am I the only one who sees this thread title and thinks of the Far Side? I mean given the Tele's perception by so many as the 'Forest Gump' cousin of the Strat, its even funnier. Not that its deserved or real, of course, just saying I find it amusing.
