Observation, your playing as always was excellent, however during the western inspired section I thought you played better on the 25.5 scale maple neck. Just my opinion.........
Great video, I have done the test myself and had same results, I prefer the tone of the 25.5 and I prefer the feel of the Gibson scale. Only solution is to have some of both.
The difference is the scale length and the construction. The fretboard made no difference.
Compare 2 maple/maple necks of each respective scale lengths. There will be a difference in tone.

That’s a good sound! What I hear is the vintage maple offers a bright and slappy tone. Whereas the SS modern RW construct is a little more gritty. Very subtle and probably not noticeable to most but that’s my take on it. Cool video!
