Strat builds are started

yeah, not much of a discount. i guess it wasn't sent back as a b-stock so why price it as one? man that is one pretty guitar body though!

Got the last coat of lacquer on the headstocks last week and made a move on the Corgan strat today.  Here's the headstock with the waterslide logo and polished.

After that, it was time to finish the build.  Put on the tuners, mounted the bridge, soldered the output jack and bridge ground, mounted the neck, and drilled the pickguard and output jack.  Lookin pretty good to me right now.  I'm taking it to the tech on Monday for fret levelling and setup.

Is it just me, or does the white ply in that pickguard look extra thick?  Also, very nice build. :icon_thumright:

That is one beautiful fiddle! I wouldn't have thought a black pickguard would look good against a body like that, but it really does.

Just went a looked at it closely, seems the same as the black stripe in the middle of my other Strat.  It's like they say, everything looks bigger in pictures.  :)

Redmond, eh? Work for the Borg, do you? <grin>

Indeed, I've been assimilated for close to 10 years now.

I spent the bulk of my career, starting before that company was even incorporated, programming Intel and Motorola silicon according to Borg philosophy and using their tools. Great fun. I'm retired now, and for the last 8 years or so have been doing F/OSS stuff almost exclusively. Too much of a control freak, I guess <grin>

the headstock logo looks amazing! i'm afraid mine didn't turn out quite as well, but did turn out good enough for me to be happy with. great job man!
