Strat builds are started

i say send it back. if it's not what you ordered then i say definitely go for what you had planned. you planned hard for your build!

I agree that you should send it back.  :icon_thumright:
I know the waiting game really sucks; however, you should not settle for less than you expect...
That is what you paid for.
Good luck with what ever road you chose &  :rock-on:

I'd return it. If I wanted the opposite and got a hardtail I wouldn't think twice about it.

I'd be really pissed if they got it wrong and then told me I'd have to not only wait another 8 weeks but also pay postage to return it !!  ???

Called Warmoth today.  They are going to make me a new body.  They are paying for return shipping for the old body and they let me pick a new top.  I chose this one.  They put me "at the front of the line", but unfortunately it still takes a bunch of time for manufacturing and finishing. I think the minimum time is gonna be 6ish weeks.  I guess I'll focus on the flamed Corgan replica until then.

Very cool...  I had no doubt that the Big W would take care of you.
I like the new top as well  :icon_thumright:
Good luck with your new body &  :rock-on:

good decision
i like how the four ribbons in the middleare darker and stand out. its gonna be a pretty guitar  :icon_thumright:

I have to say I like zebrawood finished that way, if it were only a TAD bit more transparent it would be a perfect finish.

eh, to each their own! :D I personally don't see the point in paying for a nice top to cover it over TOO much.

Been making progress on the head stocks.  I've got three thin coats of shellac and around 5 caots of lacquer on the headstocks.

Next, per advice from CB, I sanded down the area where the decal is to begin removing the edge lines.  Now two more coats of lacquer and then more sanding.

I'm apparently all disappointment here.  The natural flame neck goes on this body.  The vintage birds eye neck will go on the new Mary Kaye white body when it finally comes.

As for location, I'm in the Seattle area, Redmond for those live around here.

You, sir, are a walking crime against humanity.

jk. i'm sure it'll look great. just... not as great. :P

Seattle is great. i just ask cuz i'm moving to Portland and it's always good to know where people are at.

Portland is a great city.  My wife and I just were down there a few weeks back.  Went to Powell's (http://www.powells.com/locations/powells-city-of-books/) for quite a while and I got a book on pickups.  :)

It is an interesting place. I spent some weeks on a couple different occasions in Tigard, just outside of Portland, starting up some machinery in a new bottling plant. Rains a lot, as I recall. Nothing debilitating, just a frequent and annoying shuffle between mist and drizzle that kept you indoors and parking close. I imagine windshield wipers are big business there <grin>

Redmond, eh? Work for the Borg, do you? <grin>
