Agreed.

I'm a firm believer that a guitar picks its own strap.

I got my new 7/8 S from the tech a few days ago. The black Mono Betty strap is a natural for it. It is cushioned with memory foam, and that plus it's width makes the guitar seem almost weightless. I think it has a kind of neat high tech look to it, that complements this guitar nicely:

Very nice choice... a Souldier Woodstock Red if I'm not mistaken. Am I right? I used to have one just like it. It will go perfectly with that guitar.

I agree, wider and padded seem to lift a pound or so off of the overall weight.  I have notice it considerably with the gold strap that I use for my BarTele and my 7 string.  My TFS6 is only 1 5/8" thick, so it's not as heavy, the 2.5" works well for that one.

Typically just keep using the straps that came with instruments I've purchased (-back when I used to buy whole guitars instead of parts).

I really like my Levy's MSSC80, it's just cotton, but it's really, really comfortable. I just wish it came in more colors than black and brown (and occasionally beige, if you can find it.)

I could see them keeping the black leather ends, and doing Navy Blue, Hunter Green, wine red etc.

I have a pretty good collection of Franklin straps...

They're soft, supple and supportive, come in a wide variety of colors and combinations, and are reasonably priced.
