More Watches

If watches excite you, it could be time to get that prostate checked!

One of the main reasons people collect watches is the desire to signal their social status and prestige. Owning luxury timepieces from renowned brands is a way for individuals to demonstrate their wealth and success to others. Watches can serve as status symbols, indicating that the wearer belongs to a certain social class or group. The prestige associated with owning high-end watches can boost one’s self-esteem and create a sense of exclusivity.
Yup! That's also why I play telecasters! :)

Update: on reflection I believe that 99.9% of people don't give a rat's ass what's on your wrist.

But then again, I once heard that 80% of all statistics are made up on the spot...

You love your watch, that is all that matters.

Interesting thread, I've got an old Citizen Eco-Drive and I wonder whether it would still work if I let it charge up in good light for a while? I really liked that watch, it was one of the last ones I wore before giving them up in favor of digital (which would handle the sweat of daily walks/runs and let me time myself--back when my pace was worth timing!) and ultimately just using my phone instead. I think I'm going to dig up the Citizen and test it today.
