I've own many watches in my life. From cheap to very expensive. Never once was it for social status, bragging rights or to make me feel special. Most people today don't even know what a mechanical watch is any more, and other than Rolex, they don't know the names of any brands. I just appreciate the mechanical precision it takes to produce a mechanical watch that can actually tell time. Plus, other than a wedding ring, it's the only piece of jewelry I would ever want to wear.
