Hi all,

Well, after thinking about it for years I finally ordered a Warmoth body  and it arrived today :) I made the body for my Tele 12 years ago from scratch (my only electric), always wanted to do another guitar. Here are some crappy phone camera pics for now.

* 1-piece chambered black korina body
* Unique choice black korina top
* Contoured heel
* 720 mod

Will have hipshot hardtail bridge, all black hardware, LP-style toggle, probably some mini toggles too, oil finish. Want to get a bloodwood neck for it. Pickups are not 100% decided but I'm thinking dually lace sensor in the neck, maybe a purple/emerald will be quite versatile. And a Seymour duncan custom-5/custom custom/duncan custom with the magnet swapped for an an Alnico IV like in my other guitar.

Some questions:

* Why do cambered bodies have the open chamber connected to the control cavity? Ease of feeding the pickup wiring without having to find two holes?
* Didn't expect the recessed routing for the strat switch given that I didn't specify a hole for it, I guess that's default. Hope it isn't too thin for the LP switch.
* String ferrule holes aren't recessed like I expected, is this normal? They sit proud?

Otherwise I think I'm happy, should look nice finished...

If anyone's interested, here are some pics of my telestrat. It's heavy but the sustain and tone (IMO) is amazing :) The wood is Tas Oak (Eucalyptus). I'll probably use the same finish again, which is tung-oil based.

No idea
Yes it's default, should be good for your switch.
String ferrules are only recessed on finished vintage teles, all others 'sit proud'

Thanks, AutoBat. It didn't occur to me that ferrules would ever be deliberately proud. Wonder why Warmoth drill the ferrule holes so deep...

Anyone else know about the open chamber? I'm assuming it's purely for easy of feeding the pickup wire through.

Great looking top on that one. I've become enamored with this wood...I have two BK bodies waiting for me to do something with them.  :icon_biggrin:

Hey, thanks. I was hoping for a dark core to contrast the pale top, and ended up with one that matched it, but it should still come up nice. I'll get some better pics with my SLR.

Yeah, trying to get the motivation to start sanding and oiling... I didn't want to until I new all the measurements were correct (like the little blue instruction say) but it seems good, so...!

Normally typos don't bother me, but it does when it changes the meaning.

This is chambered.

This is cambered.

Hahahahah  :icon_thumright:

I normally think of camber as this:

(I won't pull you up on the "it does/they do" grammar :P )
