Stain tests for a future build

Thanks all, I just updated the mix ratios from my notes.
What was interesting is to see how quickly blue turns purple. With just 10 drops of blue it takes only 2 drops of red to already get a rich/deep purple stain.

Transitioning from yellow to amber to orange happens surprisingly fast, too. 10 drops of yellow is just yellow, that plus 1 red and it's amber, etc.

Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind because I do need amber for another guitar. I have Amber with Transtint so that's easy, but if I use Keda dyes I will need to make my own amber mix.

To highlight the grain, here's my Keda dye recipe for amber:
First coat ...
6 ounces batch
1/4th tsp yellow
Pea size of red
.75 pea size of brown (and .5 pea size blue for more golden color)
(The first coat gets into the grain patterns

Sand back gently ...

Second coat which I want lighter and a little bit more orangy ...
6 ounces batch
1/4th tsp yellow, plus a dab more
1.5 Peas sizes of red
1/4 pea size of blue

Apply thin coats of tru-oil

Buff

Done
