Rapf, I seem to have come down with a disease. The SG is coming along nicely, I'm taking my time on the finish, but that time also means my mind wanders.....I'm getting so tempted by a body in the showcase.

I saw these guys this weekend past (sorry about the vid quality, it gave the best view of the guitar!) and during the set I was staring at the guitar going "I want that" like that character in Napoleon Dynamite. I also assume those are P-90s and not standard JM pickups?

There are a lot of really nice ones in the showcase. I want a LPB with black single ply pickguard and P-90s, and some sort of hardtail.

I've been daydreaming of a mahogany/swamp ash top JM, with P90s, hardtail and a tele maple/maple neck. Clear gloss finish and chrome hardware.

Seriously, they're wonderful, just get the bridge situation sorted out.  Potential solutions:

-Play with thick strings (.011's or higher)
-Get a buzz stop (but seriously, don't, it completely changes the feel & playability, and not in a positive way)
-Use a TOM bridge
-Use a Mustang bridge
-Get a Mastery bridge (no really, get one, they're amazing)

Check out the Mastery bridge mentioned above, I looked at their site and it looks a tasty bit of gear. And fixes all the issues to boot!

Yep.  Just a magnificent part.  I can tell you from direct experience that none of that is hype.  If you're okay with the extra cash then you're in for a treat.
