but I don't have one yet, and I'm scared to buy anything less than $500 because most of the nylon stringers I've seen at those prices are crap. Unfortunately my budget is very low (I'm a student) so if you could recommend decent classical guitars that are easy on the wallet, that would be very appreciated. Thanks all...

My Fender CG-7 was $130 when I got it five years ago.  I'm not sure if they make it or something equivalent anymore.  It plays really well, sounds good, stays in tune, intonation is pretty good.  However, I have not played any other classical guitars, but this one works really well for what I use it for.  I don't really play any classical music though.

Yamaha CG171SF

I don't own this one personally, but I love to play it when I visit my nephew.  Easy to play and an impressive tone.

Yamaha is definitely the go-to company for acoustics and classical guitars in the $300-$400 range. I'd recommend you start your shopping by trying out a CG and go from there. I knew someone who owned two Yamaha nylons but I don't know their models offhand, and I've had good experienes with my FG370 and their products in general.

Thanks everybody, I should've known to look at yamaha first. My first guitar ever was a $100 yamaha steel string acoustic, and believe it or not it's still one of my favorite guitars to play. I think they are a company that really looks out for the musician and puts alot a value into less expensive packages. Yesterday I bought a CG111S classical guitar, and I am not disappointed!!!  :cool01:
