Short scale PJ bass build

So I’m thinking about starting to collect bits and parts for a 30” or 32” short scale PJ bass build.
Bass is new to me, so any advice from all of you bass players and builders on p/u’s, tuners etc. is welcome!

Initial thoughts were a lake placid blue body, white pearloid pick guard and a roasted maple neck. Chrome hardware.

But now also thinking maybe instead a clear satin finish on a quilted maple topped body. Maybe black hardware to contrast nicely.
But, nothing in stone yet.

Dare I tempt you with Satin Lake Placid Blue? Bwahahaha

Hopefully Aaron will be on shortly to announce that there is exactly that bass body in the screaming deal section right now for like $100 😂

Well I have found that I much prefer the Gibson short scale on my telecaster builds, I will probably will also be more comfortable with the short scale on base.
Starting to research 30” vs 32” now before I pull the trigger on a neck, and any input from all of the bass players would be much appreciated.

Also looking at just going with the Gotoh 201 bridge and Gotoh GB707 Bass Tuner Set on Warmoth.

Definitely liking the satin lake placid blue with white pearl pick guard....
