Seymour Duncan Blackouts

Has anyone here tried these?  I've got a build coming up that had a battery box routed.  I have EMGs in another guitar and don't want to duplicate that.  Any feedback on these (no pun intended)?

Can't say I've tried em personally.  Most people say that they're much more organic and crunchy with a sharper and tighter bass than EMG's.

A friend has them in his seven string.  They are loud and crunchy.  He also thinks that they go through batteries, but I asked him about that and he just says he thinks so.  He plays metal and they suit him fine.
