Ok, I need any and all Warmoth employees to exit this post......go ahead, I'll wait......

Ok, now for the rest of you that have been Warmoth customers for some time, how long does it take before an item gets transferred to the Screaming Deals section?  I've had my eye on something, but the wife continues to say no.  Now if it were to lets say go to the Deals section, I might be able to convince her that it is now a bargain and we all now how much women will buy shite that's on sale just to save us money.

Wow.  That's a little sexist.  Either that or she has both your "coin-purse" and it's contents locked away where you can't get them, and I'm not talking about money.  Perhaps you should wait until your wife gives you permission.  I see who wears the pants at your house.  Save/Raise the money to buy your parts, but don't go deceiving your wife.  That's a recipe for a return to bachelorhood.

That's funny, in one post you admit that your wife is in charge AND you expose yourself as a sexist.

First of all, I am the least sexist person I know.  Second, it was just a play on stereotypes.  Third, a happy home is one where the wife is happy, if you're married you'd understand. I dont need her permission to buy anything, but at the same time, if she says no, then there is probably a reason behind it (especially since she shelled out $1500 for my Clapton Strat as a Fathers Day present last year coming as a total suprise to me).  Finally, the jist of my post was to find out if anyone knew how long a body has to be on the regular list before it goes to the deals section.

Jeez, talk about boxers in a bunch. I think it was probally just sarcasm.

If it's anywhere in the showcase and you want it, you should buy it if you can afford it. If you can't, forget about it until you can afford it, then check again and cross fingers and toes. Anything else is a waste of time (and I NEVER waste time on the showcase......)!

Hmmm....  Tell the people that make the decisions to go away???  Not sure I get the logic in that one.  I'm certainly not going to take anything away from our awesome community members as their answers have been correct, but....  :icon_scratch:

The short answer is 'It depends.'  Be aware, the vast majority of items sell before going to screamin' deals.  Statistically speaking, if you're waiting for a specific item to be discounted and put in screamin' deals, you'll likely lose out.

The Jag body i just picked up, I swear it was hanging around for months. D othe bodies have any kind of date stamp on them? I didn't notice anything in the neck pocket like that.

QFT

There have been many pieces I have missed out on from the showcase.  If its a great item, there's a distinct possibility that someone else is eyeballing it already.

Wyliee, it was all meant in fun (the part about you guys going away)  :toothy10:

Plus if it got out which piece I was looking at, then you guys would never move it.

I took the risk a couple of times in the last couple of months. and about 3 times I was lucky!!
It could be worth to keep on checking the showcase, since in a couple of cases I have seen a big price drop on parts that didn't even end up in the screaming deals.

oh and also, the opposite happened to me.. there were a bunch of all rosewood strat necks in the showcase for 250! I waited too long buying one and suddenly they went UP to 350! and this was months after the official price increase...

So, yeah. Looks like about 2 percent of the guitars go to screaming deals. if marko only got three guitars/necks in the last few months... well, divide that by the 600 so far this year...

Wow.  That's a little sexist.

That's not sexist; it's a joke with a kernel of truth to it.  You apparently don't know what "sexist" means.

Guess we now know your wife/girlfriend forced you to read the Feminist Manifesto under pain of never gettin' yer ballz back:

"Honey, you mean I can't say anything about women even if it's true?  And if I do say anything, I'm being sexist?"

"That's right Vol Knob, you're my bitch."

Not true; sometime we get reminded of pieces that are past their prime and we need the space for new parts so off to screaming deals they go. We won't hold a piece at a price just because we know someone's currently looking at it. There is always someone looking at every piece on the Showcase.

It does end up being a long wait if you waiting on something to get there though.
