Sarah Ryan inspired Fender XII and Jazz Bass

Is Tonar just doing the clear coat, or what specifically was the wood flying back and forth to him for?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Sadly, Tonar is not involved in the project.  The lacquer that he uses Dosh could not paint on - the acrylic paint did not stick.
The plan is to use an acrylic clear coat.

More pics - the pickguard is wired up.  This is the first time I made a guitar where you could wire everything with out the guitar around.  Made for easy work!

looks a LOT better on the guitar body than i thought it would, fantastic even

as an aside am i the only person following this thread who is really annoyed at woman who wouldnt paint the body because the man only wanted to make whole guitars?

im not questioning their right to be pissy about it, as people should do what they want, but it seems like a dumb, overly-arbitrary decision not based on any rationale i could respect

OTOH an instrument made with a friend's collaboration will be that much more personal, so it worked out for the best!

First coat of clear is now on.

... I hope there are no runs in it!

What; and no pics?  :icon_scratch:

That geetar is a real beauty indeed.  Your hard work has paid off on a grand scale...  :headbang1:

SO EPIC Trevor. This is definitely my favorite project I've seen on the board in the past year or so. You've got me really wishing I'd done it first!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

There is just one problem.  This guitar DOES NOT YET HAVE A NAME.

So - as with Kashmir, I'll be looking for suggestions as to what to name it.

Any thoughts?  One name so far is: "Cornflower Blue" - which is the name of my little duo side project.

"Fido".

Forget all those metaphysical/mythological/philosophical tags that are just so pretentious they make your average Joe throw up in his mouth a little bit and wonder about your sexual orientation. The thing's already so swishy even most chicks wouldn't play it. At least don't name it something that sounds like you agreed to it during a sloe gin and whisky hangover when you couldn't think or defend yourself. Your best bet is to not name it at all. Just play it, and let it speak for itself. You don't see Orianthi naming her guitars...
