Sarah Ryan inspired Fender XII and Jazz Bass

I don't understand all this angst about a white pickguard on a black body. It goes together so well and has been done so many times, it's practically iconic. There's even a slang term for it: Tuxedo Strat. Even Fender offers that combination, and we all know how imaginative they are.

I don't have a problem with the black/white combo, I just think cream would look better with the flowers because it's a little more organic looking than pure white.  Matte cream would be great, or even a wooden pickguard.

Actually, I think a wooden pickguard would look GREAT

I would like a light blue pickguard.. one that matches the lightest shade of blue in the flower :)

I know you decided to keep the white pickguard, but i think it cries out for a mint green one. Still almost white, but less glaring, and the green should fit in with the muted tones of the flowers and  highlight the artwork.

Very cool project by the way.

White, Parchment, and Mint will all look white on a guitar that dark.  The Mint only stands out as not looking white when contrasted against a white guitar.  I have a Mint PG on a Tobacco Burst build.  It looks white.

i think mint stands out as not white on the standard style fender bursts (both 2 and 3 color.) But I agree on that guitar it will seem white.it should seem softer though.
That's why I said still almost white, but less glaring. i think it would be a nice subtle effect and just look a little less stark., you might not really notice it consciously, but it would pick up on the green in the artwork.

I disagree with this. I've seen bursts with mint guards and they don't look white white. especially with white pickups or knobs.

sure they look white - but none of them look like blinding white, white white, ultra supa-white. :laughing7:

Exactly. A wall painted ecrue or eggshell looks white, but it isn't blinding in direct sunlight the way plain ol' gloss white is. A mint PG would just soften the hue a bit. I'm not saying it should be changed or that I don't like the white, I'm just agreeing with what was said earlier.

hehe everybody on this page(already,) gets what i mean.

mint looks less stark.

I think no one else has a chance on the next customer painted Guitar of the Month.

Really unique motif, and so well executed.

I'm sure some people will vote against it just out of spite.  :laughing7:
