Roasted maple question....reshaping

Is roasted maple roasted all the way through?

I ask because I would like to get a strat style neck and reshape the headshock a bit.  Will the edges still be roasted??

I asked that same question back when Warmoth first started offering them, and they said "yes". They're roasted through and through.

After thinking about it, it made sense. They buy the wood roasted - they don't run that process there - so if it wasn't a saturated effect it would show once they mill away the parts of the lumber that don't look like a neck.

Speaking of reshaping headstocks, I have two roasted Maple necks here that started out life with Strat headstocks, one of which is heavily figured, and I had them re-cut to Warheads. You can't tell they've been touched. So, no worries.

That is exactly what I was planning on.  I did it before with a birds eye piece.  I also say they are selling roasted maple paddle necks too. :icon_thumright:
