O.K. ..its been awhile since I've got to hear the Rio Grandes, had me a Tallboy in the neck and a Muy Grande in the bridge.......Do you guys still rate them up there in the top???

Would you choose Rio Grandes over Gibson Burst buckers?.......in a Mahogany Strat...??

I  found out that wenge is pretty heavy especially since Im going with a fatback, so I may have to go Solid Mahogany on my strat to keep it balanced, so Im thinking it will color the tone even more and that is kinda why Im rethinking things and thinking about going back to Rio's...and Humbuckers.....

As I have a lot of builds with RG humbuckers, and have to stop by GuitarCenter on the way home anyway, you know what stock Gibsons come with the BurstBuckers? Could try it and give you my take.....

EDIT: Looked at the specs, I was under a mis-impression of what these were; looks like they are trying to replicate vintage "PAF" style 50's humbuckers with these; I would imagine they're going to be more comparable to an SD '59 or Seth Lover HB set than Rio Grandes. Even the least hot RG set - BuffaloBucker at neck and TX at bridge are going to be hotter.

I'll still check when I stop by GC later, but don't know they'll have any of the GCS models with the BurstBuckers in stock....

Well by all means...lol  you certainly have the experience to give a respectable opinion so you can bet I would appreciate your input. Thanks Jack :icon_thumright:
