Yesterday was the day the preamp of my RP1000 sounded better than my amp's (T00b) preamp...through my (T00b) poweramp but still. Eat it boys. And I got picky ears, don't worry.  :cool01: Gentlemen I think 12AX7's just might have been replaced. No replacing EL34's for a while though. I remain sitting on the fence.

Doubt there's much difference tone-wise 'tween a t00b preamp section and a SS preamp section.

It's the t00b powert00b section we're talkin' 'bout here for that magical, touch-sensitive, crunchy mojo.

I posted on that other thread about it, the guy says he was using a Fuzz Face & Octavia octive pedal. What the....? Why would you make a video about the clean tone of an amp and use pedals like that? His point is that if he played it dry people would request clips with effects. OK, that's true, people will. But just demo the amp with no FX pedals please, at least first. Then you can demo how it responds to fx afterward.

It sounds like its being played through laptop speakers.  I bet it'd sound better if I wasn't listening to it on a laptop....

It's okay but it still doesn't sound as good as the Jazz Chorus or those old G-series Yamahas as far as solid states eps for the cleans. Not really fair to compare since I'm only hearing this online, but that's all I have to go on.
