$975 - Solid State.

t00bs? don't need no stinkin' t00bs :laughing7:

So do I. It might be the prefect replacement for my Fender once it stops booting up  :laughing7:

Never thought the day would come but....

Holy Cow - I NEED one.

I've heard halfway decent distortions from SS, but I've never heard one that does in-betweeny distortion like that one. And a lot of our old favorites can't hold a candle to that thing on volume knob cleanup.

Lance is a great player. But I heard nothing more there, actually less, than what Fractal offers.

Wow at 3:20 going forward that is that? Ug, my Fractal never makes that hiss, neither did my tubes when I had them. (then I did use a noise gate).

Listened to all the threads. Overall a good one trick pony. All the tones were the same. Think I am staying Fractal. :)

Who said anything about it being better than the Axe-FX? You having a rough day man? Having doubts about something? :laughing7:

More missing it. Been on vacation for a week and the only playing I have been able to do is visiting a couple small music stores and a few pickup bluegrass front porch sessions.

Maybe, but I've been looking for that trick for about 20 years now.

I still think tubes sound better  :dontknow:

Agreed...
Sorry, but wanna be tubes still do not = tubes

Ain't nothing like the real thing baby...

I don't think anyone who really wants a tube amp and has $1000 to spend is going to buy something that isn't a tube amp, no matter how much it sounds like one.  You can get real tubes for that price.  Maybe if you only had $300, and that amp was $300, you would.  But if you have the money to get what you really want, why would you get something that imitates it?

If you want a solid state amp, but you also like how tubes sound, then it would make sense to get that.

It just depends on what you want.  I personally like tubes because they're old school and I like the fact that I can switch out tubes and get different sounds.  Plus they sound great.  But if I had extra money and I found a really nice solid state that I liked, I'd get it.  There's nothing wrong with having both. ;)

Bah, I'm a true believer that never thought he'd live to see (hear) the day. I've had them. Played them. Built them. Love them. But I want that tone but under my control. It's not just a good approximation - it's a darn good tone that's actually a lot more touch dynamic than MANY tube amps.  I especially like the fact that he put it in a compact head form instead of sticking ears on it. That says a LOT there about Lance's confidence and just who he's marketing it to.

I've got a 4x10 tech21 solid state amp that I love, it sounds great, and you would never NEVER know it wasn't a tube amp if I didn't tell you.

I don't have to replace tubes, it boots up like a lightbulb, can be played at low volumes and sound great, or as loud as my neigbors can stand.

I'm not telling anyone, go get one of these, I like it. Some of you tube snobs have your head stuck in the sand, it's not about tubes or no tubes, it's how good it sounds.

But haven't you heard?  According to board "wisdom", doesn't matter what amp you get (ss, t00b, modeler),
it'll sound just as good as any other.   :laughing11:

Yesterday was the day the preamp of my RP1000 sounded better than my amp's (T00b) preamp...through my (T00b) poweramp but still. Eat it boys. And I got picky ears, don't worry.  :cool01: Gentlemen I think 12AX7's just might have been replaced. No replacing EL34's for a while though. I remain sitting on the fence.

Admittedly, I did get quite excited when I purchased my Rockman X100B back in the 80s.

How excited?  Nintendo Sixty-FOOOOOOOOUR excited:

I learned countless tunes on it (cuz you can Line In and play right along via headphones)

Still, when it came to playing live/recording, I stuck to my Marshalls.

So yeah, I'll do SS for practice amps if/when necessary.
