Request: pictures of your satin finish builds!

The satin finishes Warmoth offers are already a satin clear over the color coat and need no help at all. Last year (or maybe the year before) they changed the finish chemistry and the results are just outstanding. They don't mark up like most satin finishes do and are very durable. I've had a few of them here and been favorably impressed, even though I'm not normally a satin finish kind of guy. But, that's based on previous experience. Now? I'm all over the idea. They do a fine job, and you not only won't be sorry, you won't feel like it needs any help.

I was planning on buying an unfinished body and attempting my own satin finish.  I guess this is where my question about adding the clear satin finish over the color comes from.  Sorry for hijacking the tread.

I would not say it is hijacking the thread or an apology is needed.

For me, I guessed you were looking for information on DIY satin finishes, which is why I pointed out that the thread contained examples of Warmoth finishes.

I have done a satin nitro finish body before but to be honest, if you want to get results like the examples in this thread I think that would be difficult without professional gear and experience. If this was the case it would be worth getting it done by Warmoth.

If you did want to go DIY, the best thing I could suggest is using a matt type of solid color and follow it up with a satin clear coat.
