Back Story:  Had a Korina Warmoth Soloist.  Got tired of the shape. Sold the body, and I'm using the Warmoth Custom Shop "Washburn Nuno N4" headstock neck for a new Firebird build.  (I traced the headstock profile from an actual N4).

The headstock was original finished, by me and my father, in 10 coats of satin wipe on minwax poly. Great, easy way to finish a neck, and once you buff it out, the results are great.

My dad did most of the work on the refinishing, but I helped as well.
• Taped off carefully with that green Frog Tape from Lowes. Gave an incredibly clean line. Highly reccomended.
• The face of the headstock was stripped down, and then painted in two coats of Rustoleum Sand-able Primer. Sanded smooth.
• Then we sprayed two coats of Rustoleum Flat black
• Applied the Chrome Logo
• Applied two light dusting coats of Minway Spray Gloss Poly
• Applied two heavy wet coats of Minwax Spray Gloss Poly
• Used some micro mesh pads, and then polishing compound to get it glassy.

I'm so happy with the results. Pretty darn close to airgun-spray booth quality, from a home rattle-can job. Can't beat that.

What is going on the soloist? I hope that thing has a neck  :laughing7:

The soloist is long gone, sold to a happy customer in Norway!  He's making a great super strat out of it.
