Re-radius-ing a neck

Picked up an inexpensive neck on eBay with a compound neck radius (10-16").  Is it possible to change the radius?  I'd like it to be 12" straight radius but I am thinking I could only do a 16" because that's the "flattest" radius.  Am I right?

You'll end up with a thinner fretboard, but it's possible to do it. Whether it's worth the effort is questionable. Lotta labor there, and you'll have to refret. If you can do that sort of work yourself, then it's a judgement call only you can make. If you have to have it done, it might be close to the same money to just buy the neck you want.

IT'S NOT WORTH IT. I have no reason to believe that my compound radius neck (Warmoth vintage modern strat) would benefit by being flatter. Everyone (lot's of shredder types) who has played my guitar agrees.

i was a huge fan of my compound radius neck. i can't remember if my tele deluxe has one now, but the purpleheart neck i had was awesome. felt extremely flat. i'd say test it out on a body with it strung up. if you're still not sold then maybe look into the process of changing the neck radius.
