Hmmmm ... aerosol tru-oil is probably one of those products the State of California, in its wisdom, thinks is too dangerous for me to have.  I know the Birchwood Casey sealer is one such product for sure.

Turns out Woodcraft sells it, but they say: This item is not available for shipment into the State of California. However, it may be available for sale at your local Woodcraft Store. Please call for availability.

So, maybe give 'em a jingle.

Showed up in person on several occasions - the stock that was grandfathered in when they passed the law ran out years ago.

If California won't allow goods from the rest of the union, then I say wall them off and don't let 'em out. See how long before they change their mind. Their air isn't anymore precious than the rest...Sorry to any Californians on here, but I just find it ridiculous that a state is going to regulate items or resources that are legal and used everyday throughout the rest of the lower 48.

BTW, neck looks awesome Kumo... :icon_thumright:

ON the other hand, "federalism."

We now return you to your regularly scheduled guitar porn viewing...

Well, California is the eighth largest economy in the world, that translates into taxes which the gov'mint do fancy...  The real problem is the total number of people in the state, it tends to amplify problems.  So Gas is expensive, and adulterated, environmental restrictions are tight, and costs are generally quite high.  But, like the rest of the country, if it isn't for you, you don't have to stay.  In most cases...

I'll run down and pick you up a few cans. I'll smuggle them into California for you... All they've ever asked me about it is produce at the entry point to the state. If I'm traveling with a band I always point at a few of the guys and say "Does it count if I have a couple of fruits?" They don't really like jokes at the border there.. oh well

got a little more done on the neck. Started the feather to raven concept on the headstock. I'll also be putting the intials of our singers father on the headstock.

Also I polished the neck.

I really like that morphing "feather to raven" graphic! That's very nice!

That design work is INCREDIBLE. I absolutely love this guitar, and I'm totally jealous! Well done  :icon_thumright: :hello2: :toothy10:

Little more done today. I used some liquid masking tape to create a hard line around the edge of the body. Then I went in for the background trees with a grey.

Then with ink I did the foreground trees. Also i used some grey and darker grey to throw some random distant ravens in.

I plan on airbrushing a slight faded burst to the art at the edge of the body. Hence the liquid masking tape. I'll leave a false natural binding effect then dye the back and side black.

It's getting there.

Man, that is truly wonderful!! What is liquid masking tape?
You can usually find it at RC hobby shops, it's used generally for painting Lexan RC car bodies. you brush it on, let it dry. Then you can use an xacto knife to cut the design you want to paint.

Why thanks, Doug, though I assume YOU would use a Bowie knife rather than an X-acto, just because... :icon_biggrin:

  Excellent work  :icon_thumright:

Seems to be a few Tele La Cabronita bodies in the works lately.
I'll be adding one too soon.  :toothy10:
All thou it'll be nothing like yours or Great Apes    :icon_biggrin:
